Atlas Awarded Outstanding Tennis Facility by the USTC&TBA

Atlas Track & Tennis was presented with multiple awards in recognition of excellence in design and construction by the United States Tennis Court & Track Builders Association. The annual award for Outstanding Track Facility Award was presented to Atlas for the design and construction of a 400-meter track at Catlin Gable School, Portland, Oregon. The annual award for Outstanding Tennis Facility Award was presented to Atlas for the design and construction of a private tennis court at the Wilson Residence in Brush Prairie, Washington

The Atlas Poly-Mat installed at Catlin Gable School was recognized for its excellence in all-weather track performance. The award committee also noted the design of the entire facility that allows for a full-size regulation soccer field within the interior of the track oval. This is the second Outstanding Track Facility Award for Atlas; the first was for the Michael Johnson Track at Nike World Campus, Beaverton, Oregon.

The Wilson's residential tennis court designed, engineered and constructed by Atlas was recognized for the quality of workmanship throughout the project. Of particular note was Atlas' solution to the difficulty of the hillside location and the ability of Atlas to minimize disruption of existing landscaping and native vegetation.

Atlas Poly-Mat Installed at the Denver Broncos New Stadium

Atlas Track & Tennis recently completed installation of an Atlas Poly-Mat at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium. The Atlas Poly-Mat will perform as the synthetic warning track separating the playing field from the stadium seating. This installation of the Atlas Poly-Mat is unique in that a premium gray rubber was installed full-depth providing a uniform color throughout the surface. Nike and Atlas Track & Tennis Form New Alliance

Partnership to provide environmentally friendly track surfaces

Beaverton, OR, September 11, 2000 — Nike, Inc., and Atlas Track & Tennis have formed a strategic alliance that will provide high quality, cost-effective and environmentally responsible synthetic running track surfaces.

Through the new partnership, Nike will supply Nike Grind, recycled rubber from old athletic shoes — any brand, not just Nike, to Atlas to be incorporated as the rubber in the construction of its running track surfaces.

The Nike and Atlas strategic alliance fulfills mutual commitments to the environment and continues Atlas' use of post-consumer products. Atlas is the fifth sport surfacing company that Nike has aligned with to incorporate Nike Grind into high-quality surfacing.

Finding a new use for worn-out athletic shoes is a commitment of the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program. By working together, Nike, Inc., and Atlas Track & Tennis can have a positive effect on the environment by finding a positive place for a huge amount of "shoe waste" that would normally go to landfill. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of all Atlas products with Nike Grind will be donated to fund the construction of running tracks in under-served communities.

The Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program collects and recycles more than two million used athletic shoes each year by cleaning, cutting and grinding them up to create a material called Nike Grind.

Nike, Inc., headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, markets its products in more than 100 countries and is the world's leading sports and fitness company. Further information about Nike Grind can be obtained from the Reuse-A-Shoe section of the nikebiz.com web site.
