Atlas Names John Schedler as Cooperative Purchasing Construction Director
Schedler brings over 25 years of industry experience to Atlas
TUALATIN, OR. (November 21, 2009) -- Atlas announced that John M. Schedler, CTB, has been appointed Cooperative Purchasing Construction Director serving the cooperative purchasing division of Atlas, a procurement unit of FieldTurf Tarkett (FTTK) Corporation. Schedler will be responsible for: construction management, project valuation, dispute resolution, winning and performing projects.
Atlas has chosen to enhance the cooperative purchasing division with the expertise of a construction director. Schedler brings over 25 years of experience, encompassing a broad range of athletic facility construction including: University of Nebraska, Colorado State University, Rutgers University, Chicago Bears and many others.

Fitness Club Rebuilt in Wake of Storm - February 2008
The December storm of 2007 flooded the city of Chehalis, Washington even shutting down I-5, the major thorough-fare between Portland and Seattle, for a number of days. The storm caused extensive damage to the entire region and the resulting floods destroyed the synthetic turf tennis courts at Thorebeck's Fit Life Center in Chehalis. This facility was recognized as the Outstanding Indoor Multi-Purpose Facility by the American Sports Builders Association in 2004.
The soaked synthetic grass was removed and replaced with a hard-court system consisting of an asphalt overlay topped with Plexipave surface. Atlas Track & Tennis was selected to re-build the indoor courts by club owner, Dale Pullin. Atlas assembled a team that together, had the facility ready for play by mid-February.
Claremont McKenna College Track Resurface - January 2008
Atlas Track & Tennis completed the resurface of the Burns Track Complex on the campus of Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. Coach John Goldhammer's perennial powerhouse track team has won 16 consecutive SCIAC (Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) titles and is host to the annual Rossi Relays. The Atlas FP system was selected as the surface of choice for this prestigious facility.
Pro Footballer Helps New Mexico School - August 2007
Lovington High School and the youth of Lovington, New Mexico have somewhere to focus their energies on Friday nights thanks to pro football player Brian Urlacher. The Chicago Bears linebacker assisted the school and community in the construction of a new synthetic turf football field. Atlas Track & Tennis teamed with FieldTurf to provide a turn-key installation, highlighted by the placement of a blue FieldTurf Duraspine surface.
West Seattle Stadium Track Resurface - June 2007
Atlas Track & Tennis recently completed the 1.1 million dollar track renovation project for the City of Seattle's Parks and Recreation Department at historic West Seattle Stadium. Renovation of the old West Seattle Stadium included removal and disposal of the old surface, sub-base repairs and application of a new 18mm ATLAS SW surface.
Atlas and their sub-contractor, Premier Fields, teamed together to upgrade the entire facility including new long jump pits, steeplechase, pole vault, discus and shot put event areas. New equipment lighting and a water retention pond were also added to the facility to handle the heavy rains that Seattle is known for.
Texas Tech University Turf Installation - May 2007
The Atlas Track & Tennis FieldTurf alliance is off to a successful start with the athletic facilities at Texas Tech University. The Red Raiders football home at Jones AT&T Stadium, selected the FieldTurf Duraspine turf after the Atlas-FieldTurf team's products proved so successful at the Red Raiders practice facility. The Texas Tech athletic facilities personnel have been so impressed with the Atlas FieldTurf team that the university selected FieldTurf's Duraspine product to also cover their soccer stadium.

A significant partnership in the track surfacing industry was announced today with news of the alliance between FieldTurf and Atlas Track & Tennis.
